At Amazon, I was one of three user experience designers working on an update of the MYHABIT website. My work included a redesign of the features, payment updates, and adding search and filter features. Contributions included color updates, using horizontal filter menus, and lightening up the borders for items.
When I started at Amazon, the MyHabit site was not appealing to the target demographic of high-end shoppers. Through focus groups and competitive market analysis, we determined we needed to update the look and feel and add better search and filter features.
My contributions included lightening the color palette, item display updates, as well as search and filter features.
To make it easier to find items, we added filters such as style, size, brand, color, and price. We also added categories such as shoes, dresses handbags, and a search feature to the top bar.
Originally, only one item was shown on the home page. To generate more interest, I added more items to the home page, and worked on a responsive layout for the items.
Unfamiliar with the concept of browsing, I persuaded the team that such a feature was valuable for the user and could potentially lead to more up-sell. We created a better browsing experience with grouped and curated items.
Our update included enhancements to items display. The goal was to show more products, but also make the items the focus, to minimize the interface to make the items pop.
For Amazon I worked on concepts for an immersive shopping App for iPad.
For DS-IQ, I worked on two apps for their client Walmart in 2013. Both were in-store shopping apps designed to increase up-sell and provide targeted coupons during the in-store shopping experience.
Designed a native Android ordering app for wait staff. Key featuers were ordering, modifying items and payment at the table.
